MARAGUSAN, DAVAO DE ORO — Under Project RECOVER (Resilient Communities through Viable Economic and Environmental Recovery), a turnover of sustainable livelihood support was successfully conducted for 35 disaster-affected families in Barangay Tandik (25 households) and Barangay Paloc (10 households), Maragusan on January 20, 2026.

The initiative aimed to help local households rebuild, restore, and strengthen their primary sources of income following the devastating impacts of recent shearline disasters in the province.

Restoring Income & Food Security

The livelihood assistance was made possible through the generous funding and support of BPI Foundation and Dole Philippines – Stanfilco Division, implemented on the ground by Kasilak Development Foundation, Inc. (KDFI) in close coordination with the Local Government Unit of Maragusan. Representatives from BPI Foundation personally joined the turnover activity, underscoring their ongoing commitment to long-term community recovery and disaster resilience.

Beneficiaries received specialized livelihood inputs tailored for crop and livestock production, providing families with the necessary capital and resources to gradually restore their livelihoods, increase household income, and enhance local food security. The turnover event also emphasized proper resource management and long-term project sustainability among recipient clusters.

“Through Project RECOVER, partner institutions reaffirm their shared goal of helping disaster-affected communities recover with dignity, resilience, and hope for a more secure future.”
