To rehabilitate the watershed, Kasilak Development Foundation, Inc. seals its commitment with local stakeholders when it inks a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Dole-Stanfilco, LGU/MENRO Maramag, BLGU Dagumbaan and Central Mindanao University to adopt a 3-kilometer stretch of upstream Kulaman River at Brgy. Dagumbaan in Maramag, Bukidnon.

Shared Responsibility |

To ensure success of tree growing and rehabilitation, Kasilak with support from Dole-Stanfilco engages in a short-to-medium term site adoption. Currently, Kasilak/Dole-Stanfilco adopts one forest, three creeks, one watershed, one estero and one park in Bukidnon Province. It just turned over an adopted forest in Malagana in nearby Claveria, Misamis Oriental.

This initiative is in partnership with local stakeholders, an important element for shared responsibility—to monitor and sustain the efforts. More than tree planting, it’s tree growing.

The launching of Kulaman River adoption was witnessed by Maramag Mayor Jose Doromal, Dagumbaan Barangay Capt. Michael Ramos, CMU Geomin Chief Eric Bruno, Maramag MENRO Head Concepcion Pacatang, Dole-Stanfilco HR Manager for Employee Relations and CSR Jong Oville, and Kasilak Development Foundation, Inc.
