November 22, 2024, Davao City. To upskill and empower its staff to contribute to the resource mobilization initiatives and targets of the Foundation, Kasilak Development Foundation, Inc. organized a 3-day Project Proposal Writeshop (Technical Training) on November 20-22, 2024 at Waterfront Insular Hotel, Davao City. The training was part of the Staff Training and Development (ST&D) and Resource Mobilization Strategies of the Foundation.
Initial results of the training showed enhanced technical writing skills of participating staff particularly on designing project background/rationale and project description (esp. using citations from Google Scholar and other sources/references). While there still need for further improvement, at least the writeshops/exercises enabled them to draft/develop at least 10 project proposals based on the calls for proposals of the external donors. The activity concluded with the presentation of each of the draft proposals, assessed by the Foundation’s Board of Trustees/Management Committee (BOT/MANCOM) members which served as the panelists/evaluators.
Kasilak expresses its appreciation to Dr. Arvin Gutang, the Head of Research and Publication Center of Holy Cross of Davao College for his expertise as Resource Person and to the BOT/MANCOM members, Sharon L. Binwag-Villalon (BOT President/MANCOM Chairperson), Atty. Dinah Rose Bala (BOT/MANCOM member), Wilfred S. Oville, Jr. (BOT/MANCOM member) and EnP. Jobe C. Tubigon (MANCOM member/Executive Director) for their valuable inputs to help improve the draft project proposals and for their active participation and support of the resource mobilization and capacity building activities of the Foundation.
