In a blessing and turnover ceremony today, Dole-Stanfilco celebrates with partners Kasilak Development Foundation Inc., 512th Engineer Construction Battalion, 39th Infantry Battalion, Department of Education (DepEd), and local government units for another milestone in its commitment to education and community development.
The donation is part of Dole-Stanfilco’s continuing effort to invest in the well-being of the communities where it operates. Executives from Dole-Stanfilco led by HR Manager Jong Oville, Kasilak Development Foundation led by Executive Director Obet Tubigon, DepEd officials, Philippine Army officers, and local government leaders gathered for the ceremonial ribbon-cutting and classroom blessing, joined by excited students and teachers.
The stakeholders in the project collectively regarded this classroom to be more than just walls and a roof—it is a symbol of hope, growth, and partnership. The new facility is equipped with own toilet, improved ventilation, and provisions for inclusive learning.
The collaboration reflects a shared goal of ensuring better learning environments for Filipino students, especially in underserved rural areas.
It can be recalled that a series of high-intensity earthquakes that rocked North Cotabato in late 2019 significantly destroyed most schools in this town. This recipient, Garsika Elementary School, abandoned its damaged compound and resumed in a new location with temporary facility.
As the ceremony concluded, children entered the new classroom for the first time, their smiles a powerful reminder of the lasting impact that responsible corporate citizenship can bring.
This classroom turnover is just one of several education-centered initiatives under Dole’s broader CSR agenda in collaboration with local stakeholders.
