The Banana Export Industry Foundation (BEIF) is a corporate social responsibility arm of the Pilipino Banana Growers and Exporters Association (PBGEA). One of their programs is the Scholarship Program.
Each year, BEIF holds a qualifying exam to select top 15 high school students and 4 college students for scholarships. The exam is taken by selected children of workers and growers from different member banana companies of PBGEA including Dole-Stanfilco, Marsman, Tadeco, Unifrutti, etc.
This year, Dole-Stanfilco made history! All 15 High School scholarship slots were awarded to Dole Stanfilco students, with many coming from its adopted schools! The top scorer for College was also from Dole-Stanfilco! This success is thanks to the dedication of Kasilak’s Area Coordinators and Dole-Stanfilco’s CSR/EE Specialists who facilitated the annual student assessments and reviews. The exam took place at Rancho Palos Verdes Clubhouse, Davao Riverfront Corporate City, Maa, Diversion Road, Davao City last June 1, 2024.
Since 2012, over 70 Dole-Stanfilco students from Davao, Cotabato, and Bukidnon have benefitted from this program.
